Game Review Guidelines
At Math Playground, we hand-pick every game to provide wholesome and nutritious entertainment for players of all ages. Our games are all non-violent, don’t contain adult content or foul language, and avoid empty action and thoughtless play. Most importantly, they’re all fun!
What makes a game a “Math Playground Game”?
While not every Math Playground game is a math game, every Math Playground game has elements of numeracy, critical thinking, strategy, memory or puzzle solving. When you’re playing a Math Playground Game, you might be setting prices in a coffee shop, calculating the probability of drawing the right card, or using spatial reasoning to line up your car into a narrow parking space. No matter which of our games you choose, you’re going to need to turn on your brain to play!
Who is reviewing the content?
Our team of Game Producers, comprised of graduates from top game design universities, thoroughly play and review each of our games. We test each game to make sure it is bug-free and meets our stringent content guidelines. We also aim to provide a variety of genres and styles so that everyone can find their next favorite game!
Our safety standards for games
- Violence and action: No games with realistic violence, blood, or mindless action.
- Safe text, voice, and video: Custom usernames that could potentially include personal information or profanity are not permitted. Users are not allowed to chat with each other in any games, or on the site itself. No games with webcams are allowed. We do have a few games that have “chat” but it’s always from a whitelist, like emoji, or simple statements “Hello!”, “Good game.”, etc.
- Humor and profanity: We believe in promoting kindness, curiosity, and thoughtfulness in our players. As such, we do not allow games with crude humor, profanity, or controversial language.
- No gambling or micro-transactions: In cases where a popular game fits our criteria except for small issues, we work with developers to remove any content that doesn’t meet our standards.
Protecting the privacy of our users
We ensure our players’ personal data is protected. This means you won’t need to provide your name, email address, or phone number to create an account and play games. Additionally, we allow no means of contacting other players directly through Math Playground Games. All gameplay and site usage data is anonymized.
